J. Waco Goodnight, MD, FAAP

Dr. Waco Goodnight joined this practice in September 2013.  Dr. Goodnight attended The University of Kansas for both his undergraduate degrees in Biology and Chemistry and for medical school.  He completed his residency at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Arizona.  He is certified through the Pediatric Board and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  

Dr. Goodnight was raised in southwest Kansas; his father is a farmer and rancher, his mother a nurse.  His experience with rural medicine has increased his interest in telemedicine as a way to increase quality of care for populations when pediatricians are not within reach.  Dr. Goodnight also has a special interest in advanced electronic exam devices and charting methods.  He believes that by utilizing all that modern medical technology has to offer, we can treat patients better and more efficiently than ever before.    

Dr. Goodnight is continuing his education by studying to improve his Spanish language skills and by learning more about computer programming.  Dr. Goodnight loves to watch movies, play video games, read comic books, and enjoys riding bikes with his family.  His heroes are Einstein, Edison, and Peter Parker (Spiderman). 

Dr. Waco Goodnight resides in Lawrence with his wife Dr. Katy Lynch, and their children Bode, Blake, Maddie and Mia.
